The properties of water are vastly affected by its local environment or in other words the system which is present. There many systems confined pores different sizes and shapes. Replica field theory for a polymer in random media
In this paper we revisit the problem of a (non-self-avoiding) polymer chain in a random medium which was previously investigated by Edwards and Muthukumar (EM) [J. Chem. Phys. 89, 2435 (1988)]. As noticed by Cates and Ball (CB) [J. Phys. (France) 49, 2009 (1988)] there is a discrepancy between the predictions of the replica calculation of EM and the expectation that in an infinite medium the qu...
متن کاملORNSTEIN-ZERNIKE THEORY FOR FINITE RANGE ISING MODELS ABOVE Tc
We derive a precise Ornstein-Zernike asymptotic formula for the decay of the two-point function 〈σ0σx〉β in the general context of finite range Ising type models on Z. The proof relies in an essential way on the a-priori knowledge of the strict exponential decay of the two-point function and, by the sharp characterization of phase transition due to Aizenman, Barsky and Fernández, goes through in...
متن کاملRigorous nonperturbative Ornstein-Zernike theory for Ising ferromagnets
– We rigorously derive the Ornstein-Zernike asymptotics of the pair-correlation functions for finite-range Ising ferromagnets in any dimensions and at any temperature above critical. The celebrated heuristic argument by Ornstein and Zernike [1] implies that the asymptotic form of the truncated two-point density correlation function of simple fluids away from the critical region is given by G(~r...
متن کاملFluids in random porous media: Scaled particle theory*
The scaled particle theory (SPT) is applied to describe thermodynamic properties of a hard sphere (HS) fluid in random porous media. To this purpose, we extended the SPT2 approach, which has been developed previously. The analytical expressions for the chemical potential of an HS fluid in HS and overlapping hard sphere (OPH) matrices, sponge matrix, and hard convex body (HCB) matrix are obtaine...
